Pay attention to details that will help you protect your password.
- Do not use easy-to-guess information such as your date of birth, identity card number, your favorite sports team's establishment year, or consecutive numbers like 1234 while determining your password.
- Since passwords are confidential and personal information, do not share yours with anyone, including bank staff.
- Never write your password on the card or keep it written in your wallet or save it on your mobile phone.
- If you forget your password, call 557 0 744 LYCA P. B. Customer Communication Center to get a new password.
- Always shield your password while entering it from POSs or ATMs.
Implement the required measures for safe card usage.
- Do not share the 3-digit security code on the back of your card, the 4-digit code on the front of your American Express card, the expiry date of your card, or your password details with anyone. Never write your password on the card or keep it written in your wallet or save it on your mobile phone.
- Never let anyone else use your card.
- Pay attention to the transactions performed by shopkeepers while using your card. When you give your card to a shopkeeper for payment transactions, make sure that your card number is not noted somewhere, swiped, or scanned through a device other than the POS device.
- Make sure you get your card back after paying at POS machines with your credit/debit card.
- When you shop with your credit card, be sure to review and check the accuracy of the information (purchase date - cardholder - purchase amount) on the sales slip issued by the store.
- If a person is introducing himself as a courier and asking you to give the card to him after you receive your card from a delivery company, do not give the card back to this person for any reason whatsoever.
- Take great care about the security of your credit card information if you shop online using computers in public and crowded places such as internet cafes.
- Keep documents such as credit card statements, ATM receipts, sales slips, which may contain your card number, in a safe place in order to prevent your credit card number from falling into the hands of others. When you no longer need these documents, always destroy them in a way making the numbers thereon illegible. If you just crumple and throw away your documents, ill-intentioned people might find and use those.
If you receive calls asking you to give the expiry date of your card, the security number on the back of the card, and your password, never share such information.
- Banks do not request confidential and personal information of their customers, such as the expiration date of the card, the security number on the back, and the password, by way of calling their customers by phone or reaching them via other channels. Do not trust people requesting information from you by saying that they are bank employees; do not share your information with such people.
- Do not share your 3D Secure transaction verification password, which is sent to your phone to ensure the security of transactions performed via the Internet, with anyone. Enter the 3D Secure password only in the 3D Secure transaction window that appears on the screen during the transaction.
- The 3D Secure transaction verification message also includes information about the relevant purchase amount and the store where your card is used. Do not forget to also check this information.
